Kruse leaves Melbourne Victory for Fortuna Dusseldorf

Robbie Kruse has left Melbourne Victory to sign a deal with German 2.Bundesliga club Fortuna Dusseldorf. The 22-year old striker yesterday penned a three-year deal with the club which he will join after this week's international friendly against Germany in Monchengladbach.

Kruse scored 11 goals for the Victory in 18 appearances last term and has also represented his national team on four occasions in what was a breakout season for the former Brisbane Roar man.

Ahead of Tuesday night's (Wednesday morning AEDT) against the Germans, Kruse said he was hoping to get some minutes but insisted that just being a part of the squad was great for his development.

"We are here to put pressure on them." Kruse told Fox Sports. "Obviously they are wonderful players and wonderful servants for football in Australia and have had wonderful careers and still playing at the highest level.

"We can learn a lot off them in camps and hopefully I can one day take over from them.

"I am here to learn and to push them as far as I can in camp and get into that starting team."
