Krueger says Southampton delighted with Koeman impact

Southampton chairman Ralph Krueger is delighted with what he's seen from new manager Ronald Koeman.

Saints have impressed in preseason, despite their exodus of star players.

"Ronald came in and fit the bill as far as embracing what was already here, and he also brought the personality we needed, and the long-term vision," said Krueger to the Daily Echo.

"We needed to find somebody who was going to say 'I don't need for my ego, or my profession, or whatever other reasons, to just see Southampton as a stepping stone.'

"I think Ronald has shown that he is here to make a difference and do something different long-term and truly build something."
