Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany insists last season's title triumph was no one-off.
Kompany is adamant trophies will return to the Etihad in the coming years.
Asked if Roberto Mancini's side will one day lift Europe's top prize, Kompany, 27, said: "The same questions were asked about the Premier League and we did it.
"It's inevitable we will, when you see the investment that's been made. I'm talking about the infrastructure for the young players. It's more than just the players on the pitch.
"There's an enormous amount of work going on and maybe we're more competitive on a European level behind the scenes. But on the pitch, it will come."
