Koeman: Southampton need six wins to sneak into top four

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman accepts that the Saints will need to win all of their remaining Premier League games to have any chance of qualifying for the Champions League.

When asked if the Saints need to secure maximum points in their final six fixtures to make the top four, Koeman said: "Normally, yes. The distance is five points. We need to win I think all."

Koeman added that fourth-placed Manchester City have an advantage of being five points ahead of the Saints ahead of double-header at home for the reigning champions.

"They don't lose three games, no. They have the next two at home normally with the players that they have, the qualities they have," he said.

"You never know, but it's all about to win the last six games I think to have a really good chance to be one of the top four teams in the league."

Sixth-placed Southampton, who defeated Hull City 2-0 last weekend, travel to 10th-placed Stoke City on Saturday.
