According to Jurgen Klopp, the passion of footballers win football games, not the system they're playing in.
The Reds will take on Porto in their Champions League last-16 first leg on Wednesday. The five-time European champions are hoping they can advance to the quarter-finals of the competition for the first time in nine years.
But team selection won't get Liverpool over the line against their Portuguese opponents, says their German manager.
"The system will never win the game," said Klopp. "It's about the players and their decision making and doing the right thing in the right moment, throwing your heart on the pitch giving everything you have.
"Systems are very important but only to bring players in their best positions."
