Joe Kinnear is backing Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew's plans to add more English talent to his squad.
The Daily Star says Kinnear has backed boss Pardew's plans to move for Aston Villa striker Darren Bent and West Ham centre-half James Tomkins, 24.
Both were on Pardew's radar 12 months ago and again in the New Year, when Newcastle signed five players from France.
And they are right at the top of the club's shopping list this summer.
Now there is set to be a shift in the Toon's transfer policy, with Pardew relieved to find Kinnear agreeing with his own initial thoughts.
