Former Tottenham captain Ledley King says the club always believed in Harry Kane.
King insists Spurs were simply waiting for the right moment before playing the striker at the correct time.
"Yes he was a later developer than the likes of Wayne Rooney who was ready to play first team Premier League football at 16 and 17," he told the London Evening Standard.
"But his [Kane] name was touted around as the next great young player to come through the system and it was just a matter of time before he got his big break. The energy he has brought to the team is incredible and it makes him hard to contain. Whether he is scoring goals or working hard he will give Chelsea's defence a tough time just as he did in the 5-3 win where he was unbelievable."
