Kilmarnock have signed Moroccan midfielder Mehdi Taouil on a short-term contract.

Taouil, who has won five senior caps for his country, spent two years at Montpellier before being released when his contract expired at the end of last season.

The 24-year-old, born in France, made his French league debut as a teenager for Nancy before moving to German side Nurnberg for a two-year spell.

He has joined until the end of the year and takes the number 34 shirt.
