Neil Kilkenny was on the scoresheet as Leeds United heaped more misery on Preston North End in the English Championship on Tuesday night.
The Australian midfielder netted his first league goal of the season when he hammered home from 20 yards just prior to the half-hour mark to send the Whites on their way.
A second goal for Simon Grayson's men came when Billy Paynter hit the back of the net in the 57th minute and although Preston hit back through Iain Hume six minutes later, the damage was already done.
The win allowed Leeds to move fifth on the table, within three points of second-placed Swansea City as the Lilywhites remain rooted to the foot of the Championship.
