Former Russia striker Alexander Kerzhakov has revealed how Arsenal wanted to sign him as a young player.

Now 40, Kerzhakov played for the likes of Sevilla and Zenit St Petersburg.

He recalled: "You know that Arsenal also wanted me?

"2003, Kostya Sarsania (football agent) had an acquaintance. And they came to watch the match Russia-Switzerland and Russia-Georgia."
