Australia international Josh Kennedy returned from injury to score for Nagoya Grampus in the J-League on the weekend.
The 27-year old had missed the last two matches for Nagoya with a back problem but he put that behind him by scoring the opener seven minutes into the home clash with Montedio Yamagata. Tomotaka Kitmura equalised for the visitors just before half-time but Nagoya hit back when Marcus Tulio Tanaka scored in the dying stages to make it 2-1 to put Nagoya into second position.
Elsewhere in Japan, Shimzu S-Pulse continued their undefeated start to the season with a 2-1 win over Urawa Reds to stay on top whilst Kashima Antlers jumped into fourth with a 2-1 home win over Gamba Osaka.
Renatinho helped guide Kawasaki Frontale to a 4-2 victory over Shonan Bellmare with a double, Yokohama Marinos won 1-0 at home over Jubilo Iwata, Vissel Kobe lost 2-1 at home to Albirex Niigata, Vegalta Sendai and Cerezo Osaka drew 1-1, Naoki Ishihara scored twice as Omiya Ardija beat Kyoto Sanga 2-1 and Sanfrecce Hiroshima won 2-1 at home to FC Tokyo who are floundering in 12th.
