Keegan convinced Mancini not bottling Man City title bid

Former Manchester City boss Kevin Keegan has faith Roberto Mancini isn't bottling their title tilt.

Keegan wasn't surprised Mancini took the blame for defeat to Everton this week.

He told the Daily Express: "My guess is that Mancini was trying to deflect attention away from the players, because they let him down.

"David Silva? He's been City's talisman but the English season is long, hard and he's looked jaded.

"Yaya Toure has been good in different games and Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko have done well. But Silva has been the one who consistently, up to now, has driven them forward and created the chances. And he just looks a bit flat. But I'm sure Mancini has looked at the fixture list and said to his players, 'Right, after the next seven or eight games we could virtually ensure that we're champions of this country'."
