Former Tottenham star Robbie Keane has urged Gareth Bale to resist interest from Real Madrid.

LA Galaxy striker Keane has told Bale, 23, to give the club another season to help them claim a Champions League spot.

Keane, 33, told the Daily Star Sunday: "Gareth Bale is a top player. I have played with him and I know he'll be fine wherever he goes because he's a level-headed lad and at the moment he's one of the best players in the world.

"I would like to see him stay at Tottenham for one more year and see how they do in the battle to make the Champions League."
