LA Galaxy signing Robbie Keane says he's ready to make his debut against the San Jose Earthquakes. Ironically, the Quakes have a partnership arrangement with Keane's former club Tottenham.
"It's always nice to get thrown in straight away," he said. "I always like to play games and that's why I'm here.
"I'm really looking forward to the game. I'm not too sure how the jetlag is going to affect me but I feel good."
Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena confirmed he plans to use Keane in some capacity this weekend.
"We'll be smart about it," he said. "We know about the travel and we'll make a decision before game time. I think you can expect he'll be on the field though."
Keane has already set his sights on winning silverware with his new team.
"I'm not here to be on my holidays, to be in Los Angeles," he said. I'm here to win things, to score a lot of goals."
