Japanese club Kawasaki Frontale have edged out Chinese Super League outfit Tianjin Teda in their opening ACL match.

Brazilian forward Renatinho scored the only goal of proceedings; a 16th minute header from a Vitor Junior cross.

Tianjin manager Zuo Shusheng said his side lacked experience in the competition and will be better for it.

"I think our team played well. We attacked well and defended well but the problem was we gave up the goal too early in the game," said Zuo.

"That was because this is our first ACL and we lack experience (in international competition). We created many chances but couldn't capitalise on them."
