Kagawa and Powell players for the future says Ex-Man Utd star Yorke

Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke feels that summer signings Shinji Kagawa and Nick Powell have been brought in for the future of the club.

The Red Devils signed 23-year old Japan international Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund whilst 18-year old England youth international Powell has made the move from Crewe Alexandra.

They are both very talented players with plenty of scope for the future and Yorke believes that is the main reason why Sir Alex Ferguson decided to snap them up after narrowly missing the Premier League title last season.

"They are very young and will be integrated into the squad and into a massive institution at Manchester United," Yorke told tribalfootball.com.

"It's too early to say what they will achieve over the coming years but they have certainly been brought in with the expectation of being part of the squad, enhancing the squad and certainly for the future of the team.

"It's not for immediate success but it's going to be a long-term process. Most of the players Sir Alex brings in are not there for a year or two, normally they go on for four, five or six years."

Dwight Yorke was speaking at the official opening of the Mizuno Performance Centre - open to the public between the 24th July and 12th August at Centre Point Building, 101- 103 New Oxford Street. Visit www.mizunoseiei.com for further details.
