Juventus are focusing their energies on prising Luisao away from Benfica this week.
Juve chiefs are in the market for a new centre-half signing, with Angelo Ogbonna failing to convince new coach Max Allegri in preseason.
Luisao is Juve's top target and they hope to strike terms with Benfica over a €3 million fee for the experienced Brazilian.
Benfica are reluctant to sell and Juve are pushing the player's camp for Luisao to slap in a transfer request to kick negotiations along.
Juve have also been linked with Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic, but Luisao remains the priority.
