Juventus legend Marco Tardelli feels Antonio Conte's squad is short.
The Republic of Ireland assistant coach believes there remain weaknesses in Juve's team.
"I think the signings have been good," the 58-year-old told Tuttosport. "Carlos Tevez, as the Argentine's impact on Italian football shows, is a high level buy.
"I've seen Mirko Vucinic improve with Tevez by his side. I'd also give the signing of Angelo Ogbonna a high mark, I've always liked him.
"However, they are missing a midfielder and a centre-back," he added. "There is a lot of talk about the midfield, but, in my opinion, they are a man short at the back too.
"I hope Giorgio Chiellini can have an injury-free season, even if historically he is someone who visits the treatment room."
