New York is appearing more and more likely to be Andrea Pirlo's next destination, after the Italian legend was spotted at an MLS game on the weekend.
The World Cup and Champions League winner was on hand for New York City FC's derby clash with New York Red Bulls, seated with NYCFC's Frank Lampard, amid speculation he will join the Englishman at the Yankee Stadium.
Pirlo also attended a Yankees baseball game, chaperoned by NYCFC management.
Goal.com is reporting that a deal between Pirlo and NYCFC may be completed this week, with Pirlo unlikely to take the field for his new club until late July.
Pirlo still has a year to run on his contract with Juventus, but is widely tipped to leave.
The 36-year old won six Serie A titles with Juventus and AC Milan, as well as two Champions League titles, and was a key man in Italy's 2006 World Cup triumph.
