Juventus express interest in Barcelona fullback Jordi Alba

Juventus have expressed interest in Barcelona fullback Jordi Alba.

Sport says Juventus have asked about a possible deal mid-season and it seems they are in a position to take on the Spain left-back's wages.

Juve, who have not started the season well, need a specialist at left-back and they like Alba. Barça are open to a loan or a sale because Alba seems to have lost his place to Alejandro Balde and Marcos Alonso. Alba must decide what he wants to do. He has a contract with Barça until 2024.

Juve are in crisis after two defeats in the Champions League, while they are already eight points off the pace in Italy. Coach Massimiliano Allegri has a lot of problems at the back and only Alex Sandro at left-back, whose performances have tailed off.

Alba is an experienced option who could come in and help them in January if Barça loan him or let him leave for free.
