Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini admits he was surprised by AC Milan's defeat to Hellas Verona.
Juventus are on top of the table after their 1-0 win away to Sampdoria.
"Milan's result was a little surprising, even if I had predicted some difficulties, because it always is tough against a newly-promoted side," Chiellini told Sky Sport Italia.
"I thought they would struggle, but would never have imagined a defeat. I am happy for Luca Toni, as I didn't expect him to still be playing at that level."
