Juventus coach Allegri praises ex-Chelsea whiz Iling-Junior after Benfica defeat

Juventus coach Max Allegri drew positives from their young players after defeat at Benfica.

The result sees Juve eliminated from the Champions League, though Allegri was happy with his young players, including former Chelsea trainee Samuel Iling-Junior.

Allegri said: "Who entered gave energy and technique, we knew (Fabio) Miretti, Iling has been with us for two months, he has energy.

"(Matias) Soulé had a chance. It is not necessary to get down, these things we would not want to happen but they do happen. We have to react, we have a championship to play: there is a Europa League to win, it will not be easy, there are players to recover. Tomorrow we just need to get back to work.

"Young people give enthusiasm and quality. Miretti played a lot, Iling was a pleasant discovery, he played on Thursday, he is growing.

"(Federico) Gatti played a good game. They are young, they are good for us on the inside of the group."
