Juventus striker Carlos Tevez has spoken of his father's dramatic kidnapping yesterday. Segundo Tevez was kidnapped in the morning while driving his car and police confirmed a ransom was paid for his release after eight hours.
"I thank everyone for their support," wrote Tevez on his Twitter account.
"My father is well, healthy and safe. That's the most important thing! I also thank Daniel Scioli, Mauricio Macri and the Buenos Aires federal police anti-kidnapping department for supporting my family.
"I ask you to come together and fight to take the country forward. Because here we should not pull for any political party, as we have to fight together.
"With sadness I admit it will be easy to criticise my country, but with all its flaws and virtues it is the country I love."
Mauricio Macri and Daniel Scioli are the governors of Buenos Aires province and the city of Buenos Aires.
