Lecce goalkeeper Julio Sergio rejected the chance to leave last month.

The goalkeeper, 34, has had his struggles at the Stadio Via Del Mare since his summer loan move from Roma.

"A few requests did arrive in January," Julio Sergio said. "There was talk that I could move on, but I never asked to be sold.

"I wasn't that interested in what was being said as I have always been focused on finishing the season well with Lecce.

"I came here because I was aware that I could give a contribution to this team and help keep them in the top flight."
