Jorge Sampaoli explains agreeing to return to Sevilla

Jorge Sampaoli says he agreed to return to Sevilla thanks to the board.

The former Olympique Marseille takes charge for the second time at Sevilla.

At today's presentation, Sampaoli said: “I have come because the people who hired me at that time are the same people who have come to see me now. I have a lot of confidence in those people.

"Although the ideal for a coach is not the ideal to arrive a day and a half after a game or with the proximity of these 10 games, but football does not give you the possibility of choosing the moment.

"It is a difficult challenge, as difficult as Marseille was, which was chaotic at the beginning. But since everything changes very quickly, I am not afraid to face this reality, it seems to me an opportunity to change. This has similarities with how we arrived at Marseille, in some respects

“The team has lost confidence and has to quickly get back to the place that led this same group of players to be at the top. We must get out of this negative streak that generates insecurity and fear. We know we have good footballers to change that story."

On his predecessor Julen Lopetegui's farewell, Sampaoli added: “My contact with the club was recently. Lopetegui made merits in Sevilla for people to fire him that way. He deserves it."
