Jordi Alba was delighted to prove the matchwinner as Barcelona defeated Real Sociedad 2-1.

The fullback admits it was a difficult game.

"We are responding well, we want to be champions," he stated.

"It seems very easy now because we have a big lead, but you have to value the hard work."

Real Sociedad were no walkovers on Saturday evening and the left-back reflected on the challenges of the match.

"Today it cost us a bit, we came from a big effort in midweek," he said.

"But we continued in the same form.

"In the second half we were a bit better.

"I'm happy with the season and with the goal."
