Jordi Alba: Barcelona know I always put club first

Spain fullback Jordi Alba says he's always put Barcelona first.

Alba was once again very firm about his contractual situation at Camp Nou in an interview with Cadena Ser on Tuesday. The left-back, who is "happy to be playing my third World Cup," said "when Barça have asked, I have helped. No one can say otherwise.

"I have a clear conscience. That's enough for me.

"I have always backed myself. I know what I can give. When I am no longer at the level to play for Barça, I will be the first to leave, but at the moment I think I am. A lot was said last summer, but I decided to stay. My intention is to stay until the end of my contract (2024), we will see what the club thinks."

On the supposed offer from Inter Milan on the final day of the summer window, he added: "No one told me anything, but it's known how things work around Barça. After the last Euros, they asked me to help (financially). That was the last time they asked."
