Phil Jones is delighted Wayne Rooney stayed with Manchester United this summer.

Jones has hailed the commitment of Rooney to the club's cause.

He told the Daily Star Sunday: "I thought he was excellent (against Chelsea). He was a great leader on the pitch.

"Wayne is a massive player for Manchester United and always will be. He's such a talented lad."
