Jones eager for Man Utd to bring their best to Manchester derby

Manchester United defender Phil Jones is keen on another good performance from his side when they square off against Manchester City on Sunday.

United racked up their fifth consecutive Premier League victory after defeating Aston Villa 3-1 on Saturday and such a fine run of form means that the Red Devils head into the 165th edition of the Manchester derby against City on Sunday as favourites.

However, defender Jones is not getting carried away with United's recent winning form and has urged his side to once again reproduce their best against City at Old Trafford this weekend.

"Victory doesn't last long enough," he told MUTV. "We've got to move on the next game.

"It's nice to go into the derby, such a big game, playing well and in form. We need to turn up and make sure we put on another great performance next Sunday.

"City are still a good team. We know what they're capable of and the threat they have going forward. They've got some great players in their squad but so have we. We've seen in the last few weeks and all season really, what sort of team we can be when we turn up and play our football. Hopefully, we can do that on Sunday as well."
