Liverpool full-back Glen Johnson has refused to accept defeat in the race for a Champions League spot and wants the Reds to give one final push this season.
The Merseysiders currently sit fifth on the Premier League table but are seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester City with four fixtures remaining.
"Every team wants to finish as high in the Premier League as possible," said Johnson.
"With the Europa League, you do get a lot more games, but it's a competition you would rather be in than not. We're all professionals. Otherwise we would not be at a club like Liverpool.
"Whether this is my last season or not, you still want to be in or around the top four.
"We've got four more games to concentrate on to try and get a few more points. That's what we will concentrate on doing.
"Is the Champions League gone? Obviously not yet, but it's looking unlikely."
Johnson is expected to leave Anfield after his contract expires in the summer.
