Aberdeen target Reda Johnson took the advice of Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra and opted for a move to England with Plymouth. The Benin international defender looked to be on course to move to Pittodrie last week, but at the last minute chose to move to the Championship side.
Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock, explained, "Reda wants to play in England and he wants to play at a high standard.
"He was a kid at French side Gueugnon and Bougherra was in the team. They knew each other from playing in reserve games together.
"Reda had a call with Bougherra and they chatted about the scenario.
"I think that conversation swayed him to make the move down to England."
