Adam Johansson admits he has come to the USA to win silverware with Seattle Sounders.
The 28-year old midfielder joined the Sounders from Swedish club IFK Goteborg last week and has revealed his reasons for making the move from his homeland to MLS.
"Also it's a big step for me just coming to the United States. It's a long way from home and it's going to be a great experience, so I would say both.
"But I mean I wouldn't come if I didn't find Seattle a great club and a club where I can win something.""I would say both because of what I saw when I was in Seattle (to consider the offer) - it's a very big club with a big audience," he told the Seattle Times.
And Johansson added that New York Red Bulls head coach Hans Backe - a fellow Swede - told him that the standard of MLS was much better than a lot of foreigners think which also helped make his decision.
"He was really positive. He told me some things about the league that I didn't know and he told me that the league was better than some of the people in Sweden say," he added. "He has been there for two years I think. He told me that it's the same level as Holland and that it's a good league."
