Johansen debut impresses Celtic's Lennon

Winter signing Stefan Johansen made an imposing debut for Celtic on the weekend.

The 23-year old Norwegian midfielder, who joined the Hoops from Stromsgodset last month, played a full 90 minutes as the Glasgow giants beat St Mirren 1-0 at Celtic Park on Sunday and his output was met with plenty of optimism by manager Neil Lennon.

"I thought we had total control of the game and we had some great performances, particularly from Johansen on his full debut," said Lennon.

"It was as good a debut as I have seen in my time as manager here. I really enjoyed watching us play. The only thing that was missing was the couple more goals that would really have emphasised our superiority."

Johansen stepped out in the green and white hoops for the first time in last Sunday's 4-0 triumph at Hibernian before gaining some more minutes in the 4-0 midweek victory over Kilmarnock prior to Sunday's full debut.
