Joel Ward is close to penning new terms with Crystal Palace.

Ward was offered a deal a few months ago and initially it was believed that Palace's offer fell way short of his expectations.

However, the Eagles have returned with much-improved terms to the 25-year-old and a new deal could be announced by Christmas, says the Croydon Advertiser.
