Sevilla have completed the signing of Real Madrid striker Alvaro Negredo in a £14 million deal.

Negredo shunned offers from Hull City, Real Zaragoza and Zenit St Petersburg to join Champions League qualifiers Sevilla.

The prolific former Almeria forward has agreed terms over a five-year deal and was in Seville last night finalising his switch.

"He is a footballer who has always been to my taste, he fits in all line-ups, it's a great addition," said coach Manolo Jimenez. "It is difficult to strengthen the frontline of Sevilla, but such a player could.

"He is a player that I haven't stopped asking after."
