Birmingham City striker Cameron Jerome is welcoming the prospect of Everton's James McFadden joining the club.

Jerome said: "I would relish the challenge if the manager brought a new striker in during the next couple of weeks. Just having the three strikers we have at the moment is not enough.

"You need to have at least four strikers. Rotation is part and parcel of football nowadays and you've just got to get on with it, and the manager picks the best players at the end of the week for any particular game.

"It is all about what is good for the team. We are battling to stay in the Premier League and if the gaffer brings people in who are going to help us, it will be welcomed by everyone here.

"When there is competition - and when you are playing with and against better players - that is the way your games improves."
