Jedinak buoyant as Crystal Palace breathe life into season

Crystal Palace captain Mile Jedinak was delighted with the way his side performed in their crucial win over London rivals West Ham United on Tuesday night.

The Eagles saluted with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Hammers at Selhurst Park thanks to Marouane Chamakh's first-half header and midfielder Jedinak was pleased to see them move off the bottom of the Premier League table.

"Obviously it's massive. We had a good result against Hull (1-0) two weeks ago which was maybe a bit better performance than tonight but I think the boys dug in deep like they did at Norwich on Saturday," the Australian international told BT Sport.

"We just need to keep churning those performances out and even though it wasn't the prettiest tonight, we weren't at our best but sometimes you need a bit of luck and I thought Marouane took his goal well."

Palace now sit second bottom with 10 points from 14 outings, two ahead of Sunderland, and equal with third-bottom Fulham ahead of their respective Wednesday fixtures with Chelsea and Tottenham.
