Jaqua again does the damage as Seattle Sounders beat LA Galaxy in US Open Cup

Seattle Sounders yesterday eliminated LA Galaxy from the 2011 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup.

Led by veteran striker Nate Jaqua, the Sounders won 3-1 in Tukwila to move into the semi-finals, as they go for three in a row in the competition.

Jaqua scored twice against the Galaxy in the 2009 competition and was the Player of the Tournament last season with five goals and he again delivered with an early goal before setting up Fredy Montero for the second in the 25th minute.

Galaxy's Adam Cristman got one back for his side in the 40th minute but the match was wrapped up when Sounders forward Lamar Neagle added a third in the 74th to send his club through to the final four where they will meet FC Dallas on August 30.
