Japanese stars linked with big European clubs

A number of Japan national team stars are being linked with big European clubs according to reports emanating from the Land of the Rising Sun. Following a solid performance at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa where they reached the second round, there have been reported offers for a number of Blue Samurai players with forward Keisuke Honda attracting the most attention.

The 24-year old CSKA Moscow star is being linked with clubs such as AC Milan, Manchester City, Chelsea, Valencia and Atletico Madrid but he remain in Moscow as he still has some time on his current contract.

Grenoble midfielder Daisuke Matsui is attracting interest from Bordeaux and Deportivo La Coruna, Gamba Osaka's Yasuhito Endo's name has been linked with Liverpool and defender Yuto Nagatomo has gained attention from AS Roma.

Goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima has already joined Belgian club SK Lierse from J-League outfit Kawasaki Frontale with reports suggesting Blackburn Rovers were also keen on him.
