James questions commitment of Portsmouth teammates

Before yesterday's victory over Everton, David James questioned the commitment of his Portsmouth teammates to their relegation battle.

He said: "You have to look at the personnel. Not ability wise, but the agenda of any individual in the side. Come the end of May, there's a fair few of our team who will no longer be Portsmouth players. So the threat of relegation is more about failure during one season, as opposed to the consequences the following season.

"If you're going to be part of this team next year then there's always a chance that, with relegation, you're going to be playing in the Championship.

If you're not, then you might be considering a move elsewhere and the impact of relegation isn't so great.

"We're in a position where people have to consider what's happening next season and, with the uncertainty caused by the position we're in, it's understandable."
