James fears player exodus at Portsmouth

David James admits he fears teammates will jump ship at Portsmouth following the departure of Harry Redknapp to Tottenham.

England keeper James said: "I'd imagine that if any players left, it would be down to financial reasons and nothing else.

"You could argue that if some do leave, it would have happened with Harry had he been here anyway. Of course, I am hoping everything will stay exactly as it is.

"We've got some excellent players and I don't know of any who want to leave just because Harry has gone."

James insists he wants to stay at Pompey.

But strikers Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch and midfielder Lassana Diarra are all said to be on Redknapp's wish-list at Spurs.
