Italy World Cup winner Lippi calm on Guangzhou Evergande's ACL status

Marcello Lippi is not getting carried away with the fact his Guangzhou Evergrande are on the verge of progressing to the AFC Asian Champions League final.

The Chinese Super League outfit are in pole position ahead of the semi-final second leg against Japan's Kashiwa Reysol in Guangzhou on Wednesday night following their 4-1 victory last week.

However, Italian World Cup winner Lippi says his side have still got work to do before assuring their place in the decider where they could meet either South Korean giants FC Seoul or Iran's Esteghlal.

"I don't think we have got (a place in the final) yet," said the former Juventus boss who is looking to become the first coach to win both the AFC Champions League and the UEFA Champions League.

"I'm 64 years old this year and have been in the coaching business for 30 years, and from that experience I can tell that you that you never know what will happen next in football, and Reysol have ability and were a tough side to play this time.

"We are still on the way to moving on to the next stage. But we want to win to advance to the next round."
