Italy's coaching boss Renzo Ulivieri has dismissed doubts around Vincenzo Italiano.

Ulivieri insists the Fiorentina coach just needs time to bed down their new signings.

He said, "Italiano has always been at the centre of criticism, because he is a coach who has an impact and when there are changes like there have been this year at Fiorentina, it takes some time.

"(Luciano) Spalletti? I really like this, give me the caqmpanile.

" I saw him as charged and poetic. I believe the Federation has gained because a highly experienced coach arrives."
