MLS club LA Galaxy are believed to be in pursuit of Genoa striker Luca Toni.

A report on Italy's Corriere Dello Sport suggests that 'Los Angeles Galaxy have identified Toni as one of three over budget (DP) players to bring in the MSL.'

33-year old Toni has had an extensive career, mainly in his homeland, scoring a high amount of goals over a 17-year career.

He has enjoyed successful spells with Brescia, Palermo and Fiorentina before moving to German giants Bayern Munich in 2007. At the end of the 2009/10 season he returned to Italy to join AS Roma before moving into Genoa last summer.
