Italia '90 World Cup hero Salvatore Schillaci says Italy coach Cesare Prandelli selected a poor World Cup squad.

Prandelli has since resigned after the Azzurri's elimination.

"Prandelli got his call-ups wrong, as he brought too many players who had never played in the Nazionale. They had no experience," Schillaci told Rai Radio 2.

"He also took just two strikers, so he got the make-up of the squad wrong from the start."
