Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has defended his selection of Oriundi players.
AS Roma striker Daniel Pablo Osvaldo is the latest foreign-born player to be capped by Italy.
"Let's leave behind the controversy," the former Fiorentina and Parma Coach stated on Wednesday afternoon.
"Politicians make the law and it is the law that allows us to consider the various Italians, like Osvaldo and Thiago Motta."
Italy breezed through Euro 2012 qualification and Prandelli is satisfied with what his new side have achieved to date.
"I like this Italy, it unites and doesn't divide. It has ideas, feelings and altruism. I know that we'll be judged on results, but this already means a lot to me."
