AS Roma and Torino are battling it out to secure the services of ex-Arsenal man Mathieu Flamini, according to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Flamini was released at the end of last season by Arsenal and despite the midfielder being linked with a host of clubs over the summer, he remains a free agent at the moment.

Nonetheless, a host of clubs remain interested in signing Flamini and now according to reports in Italy, claims have been made that the Frenchman is currently being courted by both Roma and Torino.

Flamini, of course, has extensive experience in Serie A having spent five years with AC Milan in between his two spells with the Gunners.
