Ex-Liverpool star Jamie Carragher has said that Manchester City are in need of changes if they are to challenge in Europe.
City lost the second leg of their last-16 Champions League encounter with Barcelona 1-0 on Wednesday night and have never gone beyond this stage of the competition despite the financial backing of their Middle Eastern owners.
In order to perform to a higher level on the European stage, Sky Sports pundit Carragher said: "It has been a very good squad over the last four years, winning two titles and maybe coming second twice as well, but in the Premier League, not in Europe.
"And I think it is now time for changes at City as I do not see them getting any better. They need to get some young players in with energy and pace."
