IT'S OVER: Barnes announces Burnley departure after promotion clinched

Ashley Barnes has announced he's leaving Burnley at the end of the season.

The veteran striker, off contract in June, has helped Burnley clinch promotion back to the Premier League after victory over Middlesbrough on Friday night.

Barnes announced in the aftermath: "After a difficult season to be relegated the way we did, it's phenomenal to come back and get straight back up.

"This is the end of my era as a Burnley player. I'm quite emotional about scoring. It's time to move on. It's one of those things. I am happy for the staff, the players and the fans. They've been through some tough times and it's nice to give it back to them today.

"I want to enjoy every moment. The job is done, but now we want to be champions and finish it."
