Tottenham skipper Michael Dawson was absolutely buzzing after beating Arsenal 2-1 in the North London derby today.
Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon did the damage in the first half before Per Mertesacker pulled one back for the Gunners but the goal advantage was enough to send Spurs seven points clear of their arch enemies which thrilled defender Dawson.
"It's massive," he told Sky Sports. "Seven points clear, north London derby, to get three points is massive. Still a long way to go, but it's a good day.
"We want to be back in the Champions League, I think it showed that from the celebrations after.
"To be a north London derby, the fans will go home happy, they'll have the bragging rights at work tomorrow, and everyone goes home happy."
He added: "We've got a great squad, a great team, we showed that today.
"It probably wasn't our best performance, we didn't keep the ball like we normally can, but we showed some determination and got three points which we deserved."
